I’ve been using this app for months to do astrophotography with an EOS 6D. After going through the somewhat convoluted setup to connect to my iPad, it works pretty reliably and having access to shutter speed and ISO settings in the app is extremely valuable. Being able to take images without touching the telescope and then showing them on the iPad is a definite plus. But the app lacks access to other settings like white balance that could be useful. And the bright backgrounds on the app will kill your night-vision in a hurry. Unfortunately, Canon seems to have no interest in taking feedback from their loyal customers. If you follow the link to Support in iTunes, you’re not taken to a page on the app but just dumped into the middle of their web site. Canon used to work closely with their customers to improve products. Anyway, it seems a waste to have the hardware allow for app integration and Canon drop the ball on making it an overall positive experience.
